Why do I always compare myself to others, and how do I stop?

Comparison is the thief of joy. Yet we all do it—scrolling through social media, seeing someone living a life that looks picture-perfect, and suddenly feeling like we’re not enough.

But here’s the thing: you're comparing your behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel. Nobody shares their failures, insecurities, or struggles online. What you’re seeing is a curated version of reality.

To break free from the comparison trap, shift your focus inward. Instead of asking, What do they have that I don’t? ask, What have I accomplished? Keep a journal of your wins, no matter how small.

And remember, life isn’t a race. You have your own unique path, and someone else's success doesn’t diminish your potential.

The only person you should compare yourself to is who you were yesterday.
