How do I deal with rejection without feeling worthless?

Rejection stings—whether it’s from a person, a school, a job, or even just not getting the recognition you hoped for. But here’s a truth we often forget: rejection isn’t a reflection of your worth.

It’s easy to internalize rejection and think, I wasn’t good enough. But more often than not, rejection is about fit, timing, or circumstances beyond your control. Even wildly successful people face countless rejections before they get their “yes.”

Instead of letting rejection define you, use it as feedback. Ask yourself: What can I learn from this experience? How can I grow from it?

And don’t forget to acknowledge your feelings. It’s okay to be upset or disappointed—but don’t stay stuck there.

Rejection isn’t a stop sign; it’s a redirection. Keep going. The right opportunity (or person) will come when it’s meant to.
